Many students across the nation have a day off on the third Monday of January to honor Martin Luther King Jr for his achievements for equality and justice for all Americans.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is always on the third Monday of January. This holiday is very important for our world today.
Martin Luther King used various techniques to convey his great ideas, as Randy Michael Lee, a junior at Armijo High, said, such as peaceful protests, because that would allow them to not get in as much trouble as they would if they didn’t do it peacefully. MLK was great at using the combo of moral persuasion and mass mobilization, which proved to be very effective in ending segregation and achieving civil rights.
This showed that strength can be found in peaceful resistance instead of using violent protest to try to prove his point. This also got him more public supporters since people sympathized with the peaceful part more.
If MLK used violent protest, he might’ve had less success in what he wanted to do. Randy Michael Lee says a violent protest would have resulted in more backlash and even more discrimination. This shows that violent protests are less effective than peaceful protests because it gets the point across, but not in a convincing way, which is why MLK used peaceful protests rather than violent ones.
This made a big impact on his time and our time by allowing his ideas to reach the minds of many people, and it changed the way people think about each other. It also laid the groundwork for future generations of freedom.
As Randy Michael Lee says, he made it so that every generation from when he was alive would know the taste of equality, freedom, and justice.” MLK used various methods to ensure his ideas were stable and conveyed clearly and effectively across the world. He ended segregation and provided a better future for us today. He defined an era and was a face of the Civil Rights Movement.
Randy Michael Lee says he was an excellent and brave man who knew what he wanted and got it. We wouldn’t be united as we are today without MLK and his brave actions.
