Tacherra can see the light on the horizon and she is ready to follow it to graduation.

For Tacherra Jones, her second year at Armijo High School means that college can’t be that far away. She started attending Armijo in her junior year, but plans to go to a community college next fall before transferring to San Jose State University.

She has a lot of hopes for her college career. “I plan to major in writing, counseling and massage therapy,” she said. Her ultimate goals are to be a singer, a book writer and a massage therapist.

While she is not currently involved in any school sports, Jones said that she wished she could play football “because I like physical contact.” What she really likes, though, is watching Netflix, sleeping, reading and writing.

“People are amazing in their own way,” said Jones. But amazing isn’t always enough. “Stay out of drama, turn in all your classwork and homework and stay on top of your grades,” she said.
