Does dancing come easily to you? Would you like to take your dance skills to a higher level? Then The University of Oklahoma City might be the right place for you!

It is a private university located in, you guessed it, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and is historically affiliated with the United Methodist Church. It was founded in 1904 and opened its doors for the first time, with only 100 students.

The University of Oklahoma City offers many undergraduate bachelor’s degrees, graduate master’s degrees, doctoral degrees, which are organized into eight different schools and colleges, and one Methodist seminary. Additionally, students can major in more than 70 undergraduate majors, as well as 20 graduate degrees, from biology, business administration and political science to mathematics and pre-engineering. Among other things, there are careers and programs focused in dance at the University of Oklahoma City. There is Dance Performance, Dance Management, and American Dance Teacher / Dance Pedagogy. These programs focus on “developing employable dancers for the entertainment industry” (okcu.edu). Students learn about choreography, dance history, musicals, anatomy & physiology, and more. Here, they develop technical and professional skills that are necessary for life-long careers related to dance and show business. Ten levels of instruction are given in each technique of tap, jazz, and ballet, as well as an exposure to different styles of choreography and instruction.

The acceptance rate of the University of Oklahoma City, according to US News.com, is 72%, as they are more selective than other universities. Around half of the applicants that applied had an SAT score between 1080 and 1263, as well as an ACT score between 22 and 29. The applicant’s grade point average (GPA) score is important, which the university looks at when accepting students, as well as class rank.
