The Associated Student Body (ASB) of Armijo High School acts as the principal student government body and is led by officers including president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. Each year, ASB and the Leadership class hosts rallies, dances, homecoming skits, Powerpuff football, and many on-campus events.

This week, students will be able to vote for ASB officers for the 2019-2020 school year. Candidate speeches will be given to the general leadership class and any additional students during zero periods before school this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Each candidate will be given a three-minute time limit for speeches followed by caucus questions from Mr. Burzynski, class advisors, and students.

This year, five ASB positions will be open. Candidates include Jarod Braida, Jack Curry, Jazlynn DeLaCruz, Emmett Espino, Nathan Klassen, Stacy Martin Valencia, Mariah Rios, Jaime Rodriguez, and Kimmy Tiss.

ASB candidates will be assessed on the following criteria:

Speech and Question and Answer/Interview session during leadership (30%)

Leadership Vote [Electoral Vote] (40%)

School Wide Vote [Popular Vote] (10%)

Student Record Evaluation (To be done by ASB, Advisers and Mr. B) (20%)

Voting will be open all week and end at 3 pm on Friday, April 26th.  Class officer elections will take place next week.
