Skylar Willis, Staff writer
I’ve lived in the Fairfield/Suisun/Vacaville area all my life and I was born February 3, 2008. I am a freshman this year.
This summer I really found my style and now I feel more confident in myself.
Some of my hobbies include running, writing, reading, and playing video games. Some of my favorite video games include The Sims 4, Stardew Valley, and the Life is Strange series.
I’ve been running since the fourth grade and reading since I learned how. The first books I actually remember reading was the Junie B. Jones series. In elementary school, I almost always had a book in my hand even at recess. I stopped reading around sixth grade, but in eighth grade I got back into it after discovering BookTok and reading my first Colleen Hoover book. She is now my favorite author.
Reading and writing allow me to get out of my own head and feel like I’m in a different world. I love to sit down and just get lost in a book. When I was younger, I had a lot of instability because I was constantly moving since my parents had me at a very young age. Reading and writing helped me deal with that.
I plan to major in Journalism when I go to college and become a travel journalist.
