June 2017 | Far From Home
Gerardo Vasquez has come all the way to the United States, seeking out a better education and better preparation for his future. He moved here 2 months ago with his mother and the brother.
He plans to visit his hometown next year. His hometown was extremely developed, with trees flowers and all kinds of plant growth. His city was full of greenery, which is lacking in the US. He misses his friends, food and family the most.
His experience in Armijo has been great as he likes the people and the friendly environment. He wants to continue studying after graduating high school. Even though he is not sure what college he plans to go to, he sure has some long term goals. In Armijo, he is looking forward to make new friends.
His favorite types of music are dance, pop and electronic. His decision of moving to the US must be hard to leave behind everything but he did for his education and to achieve his goals.

The 6 Senior ASB Officers [Mark Silva], [Ethan Magno], [Mariza Supapo], [Kiera Tomko], [Ahri Aguba], and [Osaguina Sorae] arrive early to the game to help set up and boost school spirit, gathering at the fence to hype up the crowd as the sun sets behind the bleachers. Their coordinated shirts, painted by ASB officers in the past years, become a highlight of the event as students stop to take photo with them. The moment captures how school events bring students together through shared pride and energy.](https://the-armijo-signal.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Photo-1-450x600.jpg)
