Far from Home: March 2017
Dennis Escobar is Salvadorian and has made a long trip to the USA on April last year, while he thinks that there were a lot of people in his hometown like Fairfield.
He chose to move to America because it was dangerous there. He chose to move to USA alone but the thing that he misses the most the most is his family. His favorite thing about Armijo High School is the ELD program because it helps him improve in English and learn more.
While he is still debating about which college to go to, he has dreams to be a math professor. He does not wish to go and settle back to his hometown, but wants to bring all his family here. He enjoys playing soccer and his favorite type of music is Reggae. At the end of the interview, Escobar said, “America is a land of opportunity and I am here to take it..”

The 6 Senior ASB Officers [Mark Silva], [Ethan Magno], [Mariza Supapo], [Kiera Tomko], [Ahri Aguba], and [Osaguina Sorae] arrive early to the game to help set up and boost school spirit, gathering at the fence to hype up the crowd as the sun sets behind the bleachers. Their coordinated shirts, painted by ASB officers in the past years, become a highlight of the event as students stop to take photo with them. The moment captures how school events bring students together through shared pride and energy.](https://the-armijo-signal.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Photo-1-450x600.jpg)
