Far From Home: Alex Garcia
Alex is finding his place in the United States, and that place includes Armijo.
Alex Garcia really misses his hometown and plans to move back to his hometown someday. His hometown had houses made of different types of materials than wood.
He moved to America for a better education and a chance at a degree. He moved here with his grandparents , who support him wholeheartedly. When asked about what he misses the most, he said,”I miss everything about my hometown but I miss my friends the most”. He enjoys the ELD class the most at Armijo High School because it helps him learn English and explore more.
After graduating, he plans to go straight to work and does not wish to go to college. He is involved in soccer and it is his favorite sport. His favorite type of music is Banda in which wind instruments are performed. His passion for studying and having a good education has made him really far from his homeland and this passion would make him really successful and proud of his decisions one day.
