One of the most exciting nights of the school year involves football, royalty, skits, and lots of school spirit. On Friday, October 21, the Armijo Indians will face off against the Vintage Crushers for Armijo High’s Football Homecoming Night. The theme of this year’s football homecoming is Disney and Pixar Movies and students will have all week to celebrate.

The homecoming experience would not be complete without the skits that Leadership presents between the junior varsity and varsity games. The Class of 2017 will be doing their skit on Toy Story. The Senior class is hoping that the childhood movie will resonate well with everyone. For the junior class, the skit will be based on “Alice in Wonderland.” The Class of 2018 is excited for the creativity that will be involved in making “Alice in Wonderland” come to life. Kikuye Fujii, Class of 2018 Vice President, mentioned that she is eager for new people to step up to the plate within the class skit and that she is “excited to see new people get involved.”
The Class of 2019 skit will be based off the Pixar movie Inside Out. Sophomore Gerald Ramos is hoping to make the most out of the process of creating the skit. Ramos explained, “My favorite thing about homecoming is the process of going to meetings because at meetings we bond and work together to try to achieve some goal.” For the Class of 2020, this will be their first football homecoming to experience. Their skit is going to be about “Aladdin”, the Disney animated classic. Jack Curry, a freshman in Leadership, is very optimistic about his class’ first time creating a skit. With confidence, Jack stated, “I’m not nervous! I feel like it’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Homecoming Night has a lot in store. Cheering on the football team, being entertained by the skits, at halftime during the varsity game, watching friends participate in the royalty court are all part of what makes homecoming so exciting. With Disney and Pixar as the theme, it looks like the night will surely be memorable.
