Will you spend this autumn enjoying the cool weather and falling leaves, or getting cozy indoors with loved ones?

After an intense heatwave, chillier weather and shorter days usher in the coming of autumn. Green-colored leaves give way to beautiful shades of red, orange, and yellow before gathering into piles of crunchy, dead leaves. This edition of The Armijo Signal recognizes its boundless potential and provides a varied selection of articles ranging from fall comfort foods, beautiful autumnal sights, to the history of the season itself.  Although the season does not technically begin until the autumnal equinox on September 22, many consider autumn to start once August or the first month of school is over.

The beauty of autumn is that the weather is the perfect middle ground in comparison to hot summers and frigid winters. It’s not cold enough to necessitate donning a thick fur jacket, but feel free to wear those stylish scarfs, boots, beanies, and other articles of clothing that you’ve been waiting all year to wear! Don’t forget to buy those Halloween costumes early, too. Autumn encapsulates many beloved holidays and events like Halloween, Thanksgiving, and pumpkin spice latte (PSL) season.

Speaking of pumpkin spice lattes, autumnal weather creates the perfect conditions for family reunions and meals shared around the dining table. Break out the cornucopias, pumpkins, whole grains, and baked goodies to make this autumn one to remember!
