First off, I want to say that I am honored to be on The Armijo Signal staff and have the chance to tell my story as the Entertainment Editor.

At first, when Ms. Herring approached me with the idea of being an editor for The Armijo Signal, I was worried because I’ve never done anything like it before. But I took the offer because of my dreams in writing. Ever since I was a kid, my dad told me about journalism and encouraged me to take part in it, if given the opportunity to, in school. I was also good at writing, so that helped influence my decision.

In middle school, I took journalism classes and was a part of the yearbook team. Now, in high school, I write and edit for the school newspaper and am the Editor-in-Chief of the school yearbook.

I’m proud to look back on my accomplishments and reflect on how they’ve helped me shape my future. I want to major in journalism because I’ve always loved the idea of telling people’s stories, and giving them a voice. I want to be able to tell people the sides of the world they don’t know about. As a senior in high school, I can only hope for the opportunities that may arise for me. Writing is one of my biggest passions, and I can’t wait to see what’s waiting for me after high school.
