The start of this New Year is the perfect time to start trying to do new things. One option is playing new video games, stepping off the traditional track.

Indie games can be a good pastime, especially when you have nothing else to do. Video games can build up persistence, increase your brain’s grey matter, and help you become a better problem solver. Even if you normally play mainstream video games, why not try out some Indie video games this year and think outside the box?

One popular option is Untitled Goose Game, which is made for gamers of all skill levels. In this video game, the player gets to control the goose and solve puzzles and tasks while staying undetected. It’s a lighthearted, comical game where the player is a mischievous goose causing trouble. Its is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, PS4, and Xbox One. Google shows that 98% of people enjoy this game. “I’ve only started playing this game, and as a goose hater myself, It’s already let me see the inner workings of God’s most evil bird”, said Hayden Lessiter on Google Reviews.

There is also Disco Asylum where the player sees the game through the eyes of a cop solving a local murder. Disco Asylum has been praised for its well-written storyline. It’s a game with a quite morbid purpose, but still manages to be funny. 91% of Google users rating Disco Asylumenjoy this game. It is available on Microsoft Windows, MacOS, PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Finally we have Undertale, a game with a retro feel to it. In Undertale, the player is a human who falls into a world of monsters. The goal is to find your way out or stay trapped underground. Many people have good things to say about this video game, “There are few things that can leave an impression on the human heart quite as much as a well told story,” said TwlllghtWind under user reviews on metartic.com. Undertale has a 97% of Google users enjoying the game.
