Paths to the future start behind the laptops.

When the world shut down from COVID, Solano Community College (SCC) joined in the action. Students who graduated during the onset of the pandemic started college in the same way, sitting behind a computer to acquire knowledge.

SCC is a public community college located in Fairfield. The college has hugely impacted students’ way of learning and attending college due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During March 2020, one year ago, SCC has declared to postpone a majority of in-person classes and transition to online classes.

Online class began on March 23, 2020, a few days after the first Solano County “Shelter at Home” order took place. During fall 2020, they have announced that classes would continue being online. However, select courses were allowed to conduct limited in-person classes.

They also stated that safety measure would be implemented, such as required face masks, social distancing of six feet, hand washing, and lab class being conducted online.

It is expected that further in-person instruction will take place in the future as the school, popular among Armijo graduates, gradually returns to normal.
