Eat a healthy breakfast for Better Breakfast Month
Welcome back to school, Armijo students! We have returned back to school and are slowly getting back into the groove of functioning before 2 pm. With the Back to School season is creating a new morning routine to fit the schedule given. This could be waking up earlier than what you’re used to, feeding the animals, waking your siblings, and more. One constant with that routine is breakfast.
September is Better Breakfast Month, but what is “Better Breakfast”? When people refer to a Better Breakfast, they are usually referencing consuming a well-balanced breakfast, which is generally considered the most important meal of the day.
A study conducted by Kellogg found out that only about one-third of 14,000 people across America fit breakfast into their schedule, while everyone could benefit from the routing.
A “Better Breakfast” should have a mix of protein, fiber, healthy fats, and complex carbs. Kellogg and other cereal manufacturers tried to create that with their products so a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats or a mixed berry smoothie often fits the bill and can’t be beat for convenience.
The history of Better Breakfast Month originates from World War I, when the United States government and media encouraged citizens to eat a better breakfast. This program gained popularity again during World War II. The cereal institute promoted Better Breakfast Month for the first time in September 1951.
Taking bits of information from this passage you should remember that for quite some time the government had tried to encourage us to eat breakfast everyday… given that what’s your go to Better Breakfast? Tell us in the comments below.
