Once there was one Armijo Luu, now there are two

Sibling Spotlight

While they haven’t shared a campus for a couple of years, they have shared a friendship.

Vivian Luu will be attending Armijo for her junior year of high school, but this time, her younger sister, Lilian, will tag along, as she just got promoted from Crystal Middle School and will be taking the Armijo route.

Attending the same school as siblings can have obstacles and advantages. “You get to share experiences together,” said Vivian. She does not think they will share any teachers or classes this year. The worst thing about sharing the campus, in her opinion, is “feeling obligated to look after them and fix all their problems.”

Lilian said that she likes to know that, if she ever needs to ask her sister something, “I’ll know that she’ll be close by.” At the same time, “she would be able to see me do whatever I’m doing on campus,” when they finally get to campus.

The sisters had previously attended both Dan O. Root Elementary and Crystal Middle School together. While they both plan to obtain a college education, they do not plan on attending the same college, since they have different career paths.

The sisters both enjoy participating in a range of activities and interests. Lilian loves playing games, drawing, writing, reading comics, and watching anime for fun. Last year, she was involved in cross country.

Vivian enjoys traveling because she “loves seeing different parts of the world” and listening to music. “It puts me in the right mood,” she said. She spends a lot of time hanging out with friends and watching movies. Although she has participated in tennis and badminton, she is not sure of returning to either team during this unusual school year. However, if she had the chance to try, she said that she “would probably just follow what my friends are doing.”

Vivian is sure that her sister would call her annoying and weird, which she agrees with since she annoys her at home often.

While Lilian shared that that the sisters do not look the same, a statement they hear often from others, she is sure that Vivian would say that she is boring and horrible, but that’s expected of an older sister. The Luu sisters have no other siblings.
