Gonzaga University: Go Zags!

If you drive north into Washington, you will discover the beautiful campus of Gonzaga University. The school was founded September 17, 1887, and has built its way up to be known as a prestigious private Roman Catholic school, located in Spokane.

Gonzaga is a school that offers a variety of majors, although, their most popular ones are physics, political science, psychology, religious studies, social justice, sociology, criminology, theatre, dance, and women’s & gender studies.

The graduation rate at Gonzaga is 83%.

One of Gonzaga University’s claim to fame is their men’s basketball team. The Zags, as they are familiarly called, are represented by the Bulldogs. According to Wikipedia, “hey have also appeared in all but one WCC conference title game since 1995, and in every conference title game since 1998, winning 16 of them. This culminated in 2016–17, when the Bulldogs went to their first Final Four in school history, advancing all the way to the national championship game.” They have been heralded as the team to beat and always play to a sold-out crowd on their home court.

While men’s basketball is popular on campus, the school also has teams for women’s basketball, baseball, cross country, golf, rowing, soccer, tennis, and track & field.

Applications open during fall and close December 1st. Gonzaga’s acceptance rate is 67% with an average tuition rate of $40k.
