A great local Mexican restaurant, and a few more
America loves food, especially Mexican food, with its distinct flavors. The best Mexican food uses the freshest ingredients, including fresh vegetables and meat.
Adalberto’s at 2370 North Texas Street has some of the most delicious Mexican food I have ever tasted. The food has distinct flavor in every bit.
Some people may opt to use the drive-through to take their food home to eat, but there is a small parking lot and dining room that always seems to be packed.
Customers who dine in or pick up their food inside the store can order at the counter and if they are waiting for their order they can enjoy bottomless chips and salsa. If those preparing the food make a mistake in an order, they are polite and quick to solve the problem. After the food is ready, guests can pick up their meal at the counter or, if the restaurant isn’t too busy, the employees will bring it to the table.
An example of something they do exceptionally well is their tacos. They are so delicious. You can taste the juicy meat inside, and the toppings are clearly fresh. The plate will feature a lime for those who want to enhance the flavor with a sour taste. Ordering just one taco can fill you up because, even though it looks small, it has a lot of meat and toppings.
Another favorite of mine is the burrito. You can taste every single ingredient and, again, they are all super fresh! One burrito may be enough for two people because they are really big and very filling.
The quesadillas are also delicious and really big. One order is almost the size of a Macbook Air laptop. They taste good but the meat is sparse and a little bit dry, but there is more than enough cheese in it to make it all kinds of gooey delicious.
All of these are good, but the best dish is the tortas. Oh my God, they are heaven! The beans, beef, lettuce and lime flavors blend into a delicious taste sensation. As you take a bite you can taste the juicy tender beef that is what to die for.
Everything is made fresh and they have an area for you to see how your food is made. Nothing is reheated up and everything is cooked from scratch. If you are looking for a good place to eat and something new, try this Mexican place you will want to come back again.
While this is probably my favorite local Mexican restaurant, there are several others and I suggest you try them all during Hispanic Heritage Month. The reviews for Taqueria El Farolito at 104 Sunset Ave in Suisun are great. The food looks delicious in the pictures and you might want to take a bite just from the pictures! Closer to school is Alejandro’s at 936 Texas Street. Their menu covers a wide range of traditional Mexican food and sometimes you can even get goat, which is better than it sounds. La Cabana at 325 Main Street in Suisun has been around for a long time and that is because they know how to do Mexican food right. They never disappoint. Finally, Favela’s Fusion at 1500 Oliver Road in Fairfield, allows its patrons to sit and enjoy a delicious meal in a pleasant environment.
I grew up in Fairfield with a mom and a dad and my younger brother. The first few years after I was born, my family had trouble with money so we would...
