Editor Focus: Starting at School, Moving to Seniors

Hello everyone! My name is Tom Zheng and I am currently the School News Editor for the Armijo Signal. In 2018, I will be serving as Senior News Editor.

For me, the enticement of journalism is the learning process.  As I write and edit articles, it allows me to learn more and more, whether it is about events going on in the school, the real world, or simply new vocabulary.

In my past years, I have served as a Staff Writer and Sports Editor. Now, I am a junior in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and I write for the Armijo Signal in addition to balancing my school work, extracurricular activities, and sports.  Hopefully, I can continue to thrive in high school while strengthening my skills as a writer and editor.

More about myself: I am a very calm and reserved person and, in my free time (if I still have any), I enjoy surfing the internet, playing table tennis, and spending time with friends and family.  I play for the Armijo tennis team in the spring and I participate in National Honor Society, Math Club, and Academic Decathlon.  In addition, I am also involved in the Fairfield Youth Commission and 4-H SET activities.

As the School News Editor, I write and edit articles about events going on around the school so the community can stay informed. I am looking forward to another great year for Armijo!
