A last year of high school filled with responsibilities and duties awaits

Hello dear readers! I’m Dulce Bernal Ortiz, and this is the first Editor Focus article that I have ever written, and I am very excited!

I started writing and editing for the Armijo Signal just last year, but now in my last year of my high school journey, I can say that it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my high school career as it allowed me to grow as a person, to step out of my comfort zone and pursue my interests, view events and facts from different perspectives, become a more knowledgeable person, as well as strengthen my writing skills, which is a plus! I am very pleased to be this year’s Editor-In-Chief for the Armijo Signal, sharing this position with Maya Adimora! In addition to this, I will also continue to hold my position as People Editor and write articles frequently.

After high school, I plan to go to a four-year university here in California, majoring in political science or history.

Balancing two editor positions this year, as well as extracurricular activities I am involved in (clubs and sports), and being part of the IB program will be quite a challenge, but nonetheless I will enjoy the process and high school experience to the fullest, even if it gets difficult along the way.
