With just a few months to graduation, Mariah has some work to do for the ASB.

Mariah Rios is serving as Associated Student Body (ASB) secretary. “This was my first year running for office, but I have played a lot of roles in the past that have brought me up to this position,” said Rios.

As ASB secretary, she has already done a variety of things to make the school a fun and safe environment, open to each and every student and faculty member. “I try to make school events that catch people’s attention,” she said. “When we did the Color Run event, for example, we welcomed several people, including faculty staff members. Part of my goal in leadership is to have everyone involved. It just makes us stronger when were united and involved as a whole.”

Soon Rios will be saying goodbye to Armijo High School and hello to her new school to study for a career in the criminal justice system. Regardless of where life takes her, she intends to continue sharing the leadership skills she has built through her time of being an ASB Secretary.

A career in the criminal justice system has been Rios’s goal for a while. “Despite where life takes me, I aspire to keeping the community service alive and together!” she said.
