Senior Spotlight: Entering the Home Stretch
Through his four years at Armijo, Marc Lejano is most grateful for the connections that he has made. “I’m going to miss the people here when I graduate,” said Lejano. “I’m so grateful for the friends and teachers that I have met here.”
Lejano has a younger brother, a freshman at Armijo this year. “After I graduate, he’ll be here to go through the things that I’ve been through without me, which I’m regretful about,” said Lejano.
Beginning as a freshman, Lejano explored his interests in building and engineering. Lejano is an active member of Armijo’s Robotics team and has competed against other schools in tournaments.
At Armijo, Lejano’s favorite class is engineering. “It doesn’t feel like a class to me,” he said. “I get to work on projects that I want to do, and I get a grade for it!”
Lejano’s interests in engineering also follow him in his favorite hobbies. Earlier this year, Lejano built a mechanical 3D printer. “It took some time to get everything right,” he said, “but I embrace the challenge.”
After high school, Lejano plans to attend community college, receive a technical degree, and attend college. As a word of advice to underclassmen, Lejano said, “Make as many connections as you can, because four years goes by pretty fast!”
