Simply Improv-ing Pop Culture
The first Improv Show of the year was held on November 8, in Armijo’s Black Box Theater (T-2). The show was held from 7pm to 9pm. Admission was $3 and the snacks were $1 each. The Improv Team, led by Ms. Sheena Beeson, produced a delightfully amusing show.
They played an abundance of audience-assisted games, such as New Choice, Dating Game, There’s Been a Murder!, Freeze, Story Story Die, Seven-Second Scene, Director’s Cut, and Out of a Hat. The team was so energetic and keen to produce the funniest material possible. Needless to say, they succeeded.
The Improv Team’s captains are Amirah Laforcade and Alex Padgett. The players are Cheyenne Shaver, Nick Nygard, Darcia Sanders Goins, Jack Curry, Eryon Lopez, and Jack Nygard. Everyone involved did such a spectacular job.
Improv Shows are fun but they are even better with a friend. It does so much good to let loose and laugh for an evening. The Team did a fantastic job being so creative in their humor, with pop culture references galore! At the end of the night, my face hurt from smiling and my stomach hurt from laughing. I had such a good time. I would encourage anyone and everyone to watch and experience one live.
