While Javier Martinez has been going to Armijo since his freshman year, he has pretty much
kept to the sidelines. “I have only been involved in watching some of the events at lunch,” he said. But
that doesn’t mean that he isn’t active. “My hobbies include socializing, drawing, listening to music,
playing basketball, and playing video games,” said Martinez.
“My favorite memory about Armijo is going to be the football games,” he said. He admitted that
he was going to miss them and “everyone that helped me get this far.” Martinez is ready to keep going,
though, and has plans to become a mechanical engineer. His role models are celebrities he likes, like
Michael Jordan and Kendrick Lamar.
With only a couple of months to go, Martinez is in a position to offer some solid advice to
current and future students. “Take school seriously,” he said. “What you do and learn now will create
who you are in the future as an adult… do not slack off. Make education your #1 priority.”
