Tasty choices from a tiny restaurant
Restaurant Review – Flamingo’s Taqueria
Flamingo’s Taqueria, located at 628 Parker Road Suite A in Fairfield, is a hidden gem. The restaurant is open on weekdays from 9 am – 6 pm and on weekends from 9 am – 4 pm.
I decided to go with my mom to try this place out. As we walked in, the restaurant was kind of busy and a little loud but the line moved quickly. I started ordering from the cashier, an elderly man who was very patient and respectful. I ordered three steak tacos and my mom decided to try two steak sopes with a side of rice. We also got nachos as an appetizer.
The food took about 15-20 minutes, and it was fresh and hot once it arrived at our table. The tacos were good but not anything special. They have cilantro and a side of grilled onions as well as a cup of spicy sauce.
My mom’s plate was actually really good. The sopes were soft and not overcooked. They had the steak, beans, and stacked with veggies on top. My mom also added some sour cream to her sopes.
As for the nachos, they had beans, cheese, sour cream, avocado, and jalapenos. They were really good and I would definitely order them again. Our total came out to about $28, which included our horchatas. My mom and I each got our own horchata, which were good but had a watery aftertaste. They were sweet and watery at the same time.
Overall, I give this experience a 6.5/10. It was good food and good customer service overall, and worth a visit if you are in the area, but it wasn’t anything outstanding.
