Religious people all around the world find hope and solace in prayer.

The National Day of Prayer is on the first Thursday of May. It is a day where religious Americans come together and give thanks to God for health and pray for good fortune for America. The National Day of Prayer has been observed annually on the first Thursday of May since 1952, and this year’s theme is Exalt the Lord Who has Established Us.

Two years ago, COVID-19 had shut down places of worship, but that did not stop the observance of this special day. This year, more gatherings are planned to celebrate this day.

In February, President Biden shared at the 70th annual National Prayer Breakfast and acknowledged the struggles of our nation in last year’s National Day of Prayer. “I join you in these prayers today and every day,” he said. “I know how much it matters – because I’ve seen the power of prayer in my own life.” (facebook.com/POTUS/)
