Faith shines in C-5 with meetings every other week.

Christian Club is about fellowship, sharing God’s Word with each other, and building a better and closer relationship with God. Currently, it is led by senior Belen Martinez and junior Bessy Monge. Ms. Lori Gonzalez has been the adviser for the past three years. She took over that position after Mr. Lawrence Trigg moved out of state.

The club has been around in some form for over 25 years and has been hosted by a number of different advisers. While most students who attend identify as Christians, anyone can join.

The club meets every other Friday at lunch in C-5, but during COVID, the meetings were held over Google Classroom weekly. A meeting might include a guest youth pastor or a small devotional time. Youth pastors have come from several different churches in the area.

Members are invited to share their testimonials or lead a devotional during the meeting and the group has also been involved in outreaches with local churches. The primary purpose of this club is to share the gospel and to spend time with other believers, but activities like a recent Campus Clean-Up help extend that beyond the regular meetings.

Anyone is welcome to attend. Currently, there are about a dozen active students, but more are encouraged to try it out. Interested individuals can find out more on the group’s Instagram account:@ahs_christian.
