Final game ends in impressive victory
The Armijo Royals ended their season in style by beating the Fairfield Falcons 56-0 on Senior Night Friday, October 29. Keshaun Williams was the star of the evening, scoring four touchdowns: a 74-yard catch from Eddie Concepcion; a 73-yard catch; a record-setting 99-yard fumble recovery; and a 37-yard Interception-turned-TD.
Other Royal scores included a 23-yard catch and run for Dameion Regalado; an 8-yard run for David Singleton; and a 4-yard run for Concepcion.
On defense, Isiah Medina led the team with six tackles and Aaron Castro recovered two fumbles and had four tackles himself. Williams and Guy Fortson also had four tackles each. All these players: Concepcion, Williams, Regalado, Singleton, Medina, Castro, and Fortson are all seniors.
Even though many of the skill position players will be graduating after a difficult seven months, playing two seasons and 15 games in that time, the Royals will be building on the momentum of this Fairfield victory, several other close games this season, and strong line play featuring many returning players to demonstrate success on and off the field next year. Thank you for all the support this year and the squad will continue to get better one day at a time until kick off again next year.
