Editorial: Make the most of your Firsts
The year 2020 came with a lot of “firsts.” Not only is it the first year of this new decade, but it is also the first time we’ve had to start school during a pandemic, the first time many of us are starting to vote, and the first time you might have no plans to look forward to. Don’t worry, though. With everything that’s been happening comes brand new experiences and plans. Not only that but you’ll also be able to tell the next generation that you were one of the first to start school during a global pandemic.
Of course, this might be the first time you’re in high school. Although it might not be the high school experience you imagined, there are plenty of other firsts you can experience. You could attend your first online club, program, or school event. As a first, you could be one of this year’s staff writers, writing for The Armijo Signal. What your first semester of the 2020-2021 school year will bring is unknown, but it’s up to you to decide what new things you’ll want to do.
Whether it be your first time driving a car, getting a job, volunteering, or even entering a contest, The Signal will be here every step of the way, recording your firsts in life. You can discover great advice and information about the clubs, students, and events that surround you right here. Start finding a first by reading one of the many stories on the site!
