Secretary for Class of 2021 works hard, has fun
Jakob Burzynski’s main goal as Junior Class Secretary is to put on great events for the Armijo students. Earlier this year, Burzynski helped put on Homecoming along with his peers that are class officers.
“It was great to see all the people of Armijo come together and have fun at homecoming,” said classmate Jacob Palacio. The next project Burzynski is working on is prom.
Going into high school Burzynski, was interested in leadership. “It was my older sister who inspired me to be in leadership,” he said. His sister Samantha graduated from Armijo in 2018.
In the spring, Burzynski ran for office. To become a class officer, he wrote a speech that explained why he should hold the position. This speech was to be two minutes long and was to be performed in front of the class. The students then voted for who they believed to be the best candidate. This is how Burzynski obtained his position. Next year, he will have the choice of representing his class again or representing the entire school as an Associated Student Body (ASB) officer.
