Animal organizations across the world help rescue and protect domestic and wild animals. Their main goal is to always have their animals safe and rehomed or rehabilitated. Today, many organizations are promoting adoption over purchasing a pet through a breeder. With adoption the pets that have been rescued can find a new loving home.

One animal organization that is geared towards adoption is Best Friends Save Them All. Best Friends is a U.S. organization whose mission is to save all homeless pets and “bring about a time when there are no more homeless pets” (BestFriends). They work on ending killing in American animal shelters by working with other programs across the nation. They’re organization lives by the principles of compassion to all living things. They host events to raise awareness for their cause and for their animals. They also have ways people can adopt, donate, and volunteer on their website.

Another animal organization is the Humane Society International (HSI). HSI is an international organization geared towards protecting domestic and wild animals. They focus on everything from rescuing homeless animals to big international issues. These big issues range from ending animal testing and cruelty to protecting elephants and seals. To read more of their story and the multiple assignments they do visit HumaneSocietyInternational.com.
