“I was at a loss for words,” said Stanley Jackson when he first heard that he was chosen as Armijo’s Student of the Year. “When I attended the Board meeting [where it was announced officially], I was excited and nervous to be around a lot of high-up people.

Jackson has been involved in Armijo activities ever since he was a freshman. He has participated in Leadership and in Multimedia so it is clear that he is going to miss the school events that he has helped planned and participated in over the years. If he could offer advice to others, he said he would tell them “to do everything you could here, such as sports or any of the school events.” Jackson himself has not participated in sports but would like to see more benefits to attending school events “so we could have more participation,” he said.

In the fall, Jackson plans to go to a community college and then transfer to a university, studying computer arts and furthering his multimedia experience to become an animator. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends, cooking, and, of course, playing video games.

Jackson identified his role models as his mother and his uncle. He has two brothers (David, age 6, and Yanas, age 23); two step-brothers (Vincent, age 22 and Varidell, age 20), and one step-sister (Vivica, age 15).

As Student of the Year, Jackson represents the best of Armijo with his pleasant personality and dedication to being Accountable Honorable and Safe, living the Armijo Way!
