Your Mental Health
During these last few weeks of the school year, your mental health may be the least of your worries as finals and IB tests approach. However, mental health is something that is crucial to success. If you or somebody you care about is stressed, make sure to take time for yourself or encourage them to do so as well.
As unbelievable as it may seem, taking study breaks and occasionally treating yourself is good for your own mental growth and health. It helps to relieve stress and prepare the brain to perform better when the time comes.
On the other hand, sometimes breaks and simple tasks can’t cure what a person may be suffering from. Please remember that everybody comes from a different place and that physical health is not a reflection of mental health.
If you need to take a break from things, be sure to not overexert yourself to the point of strain, and talk to somebody if you can. If things seem impossible, consider talking to an adult about what you’re feeling or even giving a call to a hotline. It may seem useless or cliche, but it’s important that you do what you need to in order to ensure that you are at your best.
It’s okay to not feel okay, but it’s important that you recognize it and treat it rather than ignoring what is inevitable.
Always remember to take care of your brain, but keep this in mind even more as stress increases in the coming weeks. Good luck to everyone!
