Far from Home: Brothers Learn English Together
Franklyn and Esler “Yonathan” Orellana Mejia used to live in a small town in the mountains of Honduras, a town with lots of businesses. They moved to the United States “to start a new life,” said Yonathan.
The brothers have only been in the country since November so they have not had a lot of time to miss their hometown. They’ve been too busy preparing for their new lives. Yonathan said that the best part of attending Armijo was the chance to be learning English.
It is a new life for both of them and, although they don’t know where they will be after graduation, Yonathan said that he does intend to go to work and go to college. He also said that he doesn’t plan to go back to Honduras.

Their coordinated shirts, painted by ASB officers in the past years, become a highlight of the event as students stop to take photo with them.
