It should come as no surprise, but August is officially National Back to School Month “Celebrated since the 1960s, Back to School Month will motivate you to start your back-to-school shopping and get you excited overall. So put away the beach bag and pick up the backpack, because it’s time for Back to School Month events —and we want you to get an “A” for participation” (National Today).

This year, that will look a little different than it did in 2020 because, across the country, students will be showing up on campus again, but in the beginning of the month, many of them will be preparing with back-to-school shopping.

Shopping may include purchasing new clothes and supplies. After a year of learning in sweats or pajamas, new clothes for Back to School are more important than ever. As for supplies, many students will find that they still have a collection of pencils and binders, or stacks of paper left over from 2019, before nearly everything went digital.

Soon, students will be coming onto campus to pick up their schedules, getting their books and have their ID photos taken. For many students, it will be their first time on campus, although most of the sophomores will have already been introduced to the Armijo family through Distance Learning.

Celebrate National Back to School Month from start to finish and begin your school year with a positive outlook and plenty of preparation.
