Develop your hand-eye coordination and conversation skills.

Playing catch is an easy sport for two, whether it’s son and father, daughter and mother, a pair of friends or even you and a dog. But there’s more to “playing catch” than meets the eye.

In the third week of June, from June 20-26, National Play Catch Week celebrates the opportunity to interact.  Grab a ball and a friend or family member and start throwing back and forth. You can use a baseball and a glove if you go old school, or just a tennis ball.

Playing catch is an excellent way to burn off some energy while spending time with others. It’s also a great way to practice hand-eye coordination, which helps stimulate the brain.

Have a conversion while you’re at it. Talking and catching will make it a fun activity and help you unwind after a long day or during a break. The fun that ensues during National Play Catch Week could create a lasting routine for relaxation. Playing catch is more than just a game. It’s a way to enjoy time with each other, and a way to relax without electronic devices. It can relieve stress and refresh your mind.

Capture the moment and use #PlayCatch and #PlayCatchWeek to share on social media. Head outside, in the yard or park, anywhere is fine. The Play Catch Movement founded National Play Catch Week to bring awareness to the benefits of playing catch with people (Play Catch Movement).
