International Guitar Month occurs every year in April. During this month people do lots of things to celebrate guitars. According to https://nationaldaycalendar.com, people around the world go to concerts, schedule their own concerts, get guitar tattoos and other things to celebrate this occasion. But what makes a guitar so special?

According to https://www.guitarhistoryfacts.com, Gaetano Vinaccia invented the guitar in 1821. Vinaccia was born in 1759 in Naples, Italy. His family continued making similar instruments such as mandolins and violins, but the guitar grew in popularity. There are 20 million guitar players in the US, according to http://answers.google.com.

About 2.5 million guitars are made each year. “According to The Music Trades website’s industry census of the United States guitar market, there are about 2.5 million guitars sold each year in the US” (https://www.thegearpage.net), meeting the needs of about 8% of the players annually.

Speaking of guitars, if you would like to join the guitar club here at Armijo, be sure to contact Mr. Blum, the club instructor, at [email protected]. Check it out at https://meet.google.com/lookup/bmme5scezp at 2:30 pm on Fridays.
