It’s not easy being a panda, but it is cute.

On March 16, it’s National Panda Day. According to the National Holiday Calendar website, “Conservationists and animal lovers alike spread the word about increasing efforts of the international community dedicated to protecting and restoring habitat.”

The unique panda bear habitat is becoming extinct is due to the fact that humans have cleared the bamboo forest needed for this species to survive. In addition poaching is also an issue because their skin is very valuable in the black market.

To celebrate and bring awareness to this matter, you can click here Save a Panda. At this website you can be a panda volunteer, a guardian, and even donate. Your donation will be put towards the many different panda conservation initiatives currently taking place, including connecting the forests of the Central China region in which the pandas live, allowing them to roam free and breed naturally with other Giant Pandas.

If you want to see living pandas, you might want to visit one of the local zoos, like the Sacramento Zoo that has a few red pandas (https://rb.gy/tsisek).
