It doesn’t take much, but the memories last a lifetime.

Christmas dinner is finished, the wrapping paper has been thrown away and the relatives have gone home. But there’s one more step for making the holiday memorable.

National Thank You Note Day, December 26, encourages people to show gratitude to all of the people who have shared gifts, hospitality and generosity during the holidays. It’s a day where you can write someone a note, physically or electronically, and thank them.

To participate in this day, write a few thank you notes and show your appreciation for the time or gift that was shared with you. This tradition is a sign of respect and doing it the day after Christmas means that the memory is still fresh for the giver and the receiver.

National Thank You Note Day is the perfect opportunity to thank someone, to remind them you are grateful for their gift and for their relationship with you. You may cherish and appreciate receiving gifts, but the note you send will show the giver that you care, and it may also become something cherished.
