Hey, my name is Emely Avalos and I am currently in journalism !!! I'm ready to have so much fun with you all. I'm 16 years old, I was born and raised here in Fairfield CA. My parents are both from Mexico but come from different parts of Mexico, so English hasn’t always been my first language. Both my sister and I are bilingual. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I have two younger siblings, my sister is around 13 and my brother will be 6 in October. So I'm the oldest in the house. I've had my small cute little coco for like 9-10 years. I also have SEVEN cats !!! I went to Crystal Middle School for two years and a couple of months before I switched to online school. Soon after the summer began, I was a freshman Now I'm a junior !! I actually had no idea about journalism before I came to Armijo or while I was here. This is my first year which is kind of sad considering next year I'll be a senior, but it doesn't matter,  I'll make sure to make the best of it. One thing I don't like about journalism is how cold it is in this classroom!!! I'm always shivering. The reason I chose this class is because it seemed like something new, something calling my name to try. It's kind of awkward for now since it is only the beginning but soon enough I'm sure I'll get comfortable. One thing though: It seems like everyone in this class has the same mindset. We all want to feel like this class is a safe space where everyone is welcomed and respected.
