My name is Alfonso Betiong, and I am a senior here at Armijo High. I was born in Portsmouth,
Virginia but moved to Suisun City before starting elementary school. I still visit my family in Virginia
Beach almost every summer and I love hanging out with my siblings, cousins, and cats there. I
absolutely love making sketches and ceramic art, playing tennis, shopping for cute plushies, and
listening to K-Pop and Indie-Pop music. I have always been interested in pursuing an education
career, and I will most likely teach both art and a foreign language.

My interest in journalism emerged from randomly watching YouTube news videos of crazy
situations when I was young. I always found the different writing styles journalists used interesting
and I would love to show my writing style in journalism. Additionally, I want to have more clear and
less wordy sentences. Lastly, I hope to learn how to get out of my comfort zone while conducting
interviews. I look forward to the different skills journalism will teach me.
