What’s Happening with Fairfield Youth Commission?
The Youth Commission met on Tuesday, September 4, to discuss upcoming activities. The Events ad-hoc group is planning a movie night in the spring, which will be advertised in the Fairfield Activity Guide. The Service Committee is coordinating a Coat Drive, with the dates still to be determined. The goal will be for each Commissioner to donate up to three coats. Ms. Sullivan will look into whether the coats need to be new, or if they can be gently used.
The Youth Needs Assessment was recently finalized, and it was scheduled to be distributed digitally to middle school and high school students at the end of September. Youth Commissioners will analyze results from the surveys, and use the results to make recommendations for program improvements.
Students interested in attending bi-weekly committee meetings should contact one of the following Youth Commissioners: Billy Chang, Royce Guo, Arianna Mestas, Laura Wadsworth, or Tom Zheng. These Commissioners can provide an overview of committee goals and objectives, as well as dates for the upcoming meetings.
