Game review | A Hand-drawn Masterpiece |
Most of the time, when people hear “hand-drawn indie games,” they think of games like Hollow Knight or Cuphead, but, there is one HD (hand-drawn) game that actually rivals the two, and that is Dust: An Elysian Tail.
Despite being made back in 2012, Dust has been able to withstand the test of time, and is still really good, able to balance platforming, action, and story, along with a delightful cast of characters, and hand drawn visuals.
Even though it’s really satisfying to tear through hordes of enemies, the boss fights are really underwhelming and can all be easily beaten by just spamming one move, along with some enemies being able to deflect attacks. This makes it annoying to fight enemies in the final part of the game.
Overall, the game is really good with some quirks that can be pretty easily overlooked.
