Club Focus: Filipino Club Looks for an Adviser
As of this school year, Filipino Club is without an adviser and can be considered dormant until the club finds a new one.
For years, the Filipino Club has met on Fridays at lunch, sometimes having karaoke days or spending time talking about the Filipino culture. Club members also tried to reach out other Filipino groups and events. Members of the club would like to see these and other activities continue and they are hoping to find an adviser to support them.
At school, the club has taken part in International Week, where they showed off some of the cultural aspects on the Philippines, often performing a cultural dance called tinikling, as well as performing songs in the main dialect, Tagalog.
Filipino Club has been a club that spreads information about the Filipino culture and lifestyle to all who want to learn about it. Members do NOT have to be Filipino to be in this club.
It would be awesome if people could give some comments and feedback about what more Filipino Club can do for the school and the community.
