May 2018: Sibling Spotlight | Close but Unique
The only class that Nathalie and Nathaniel Aquino share is band, and that may be the only time that they are seen together on campus. They both like how they do their own thing at school, but then they also bond in some sort of way.
“Our brother-sister relationship is pretty cool because we technically do our own thing and not bother each other,” said Nathalie. “When we are in public, it’s awkward though. We are home it’s fine.”
Just because they don’t spend time together at school doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy each other’s company. When they are both together, they like to get food and play video games.
While they have different friends and different interests, there are some things that they have in common. “We might be traveling to the Philippines before we graduate,” said Nathaniel. Graduation is imminent for him, while his sister will be the last one in her family to go to school. “We have an older brother but he’s in college,”
Nathalie said. “I’m sad that [Nathaniel]’s leaving.” Next fall she will have to navigate the campus all by herself for her last two years in high school.
