The website https://10mosttoday.com/10-most-inspirational-women-in-history/ gives the Top 10 most inspirational women: Florence Nightingale, Marie Curie, Mother Theresa, Clara Barton, Marilyn Monroe, Helen Keller, Amelia Earhart, Emmaline Pankhurst, Katherine Hepburn and Cleopatra. Many of these we learn about in history classes, but we don’t always recognize their importance.
Marilyn Monroe and Katherine Hepburn were both award winning actresses who set the stage for entertainment. Hepburn was known for her fierce independence and spirited personality and, while Monroe died young (36), Hepburn performed well into her 80’s. Both of these women have been considered inspirational, encouraging young girls to pursue independence and follow their dreams.
Surprisingly Rosa Parks was not on the list. For many, Parks is the epitome of independence and defiance, a proud woman of color who broke the rules by sitting in the front of the bus .She has been referred to as the First Lady of Civil Rights and, because of her, women young and old have stood up for what they believe.
