The weekend of September 16 and 17, the Armijo Cross Country team traveled to Los Angeles for one of the biggest cross country meets in the nation, and one of the fastest as there isn’t a hill in sight. They came home with a ton of personal records, medals and two plaques.

In the Senior Boys Gold Division race, our team of Oscar Morales, Aaron Boggs, Caden Boss, James Klassen, Alex Moreno, and Cameron Lucas placed 5th and earned a plaque.

In Varsity Boys-B Gold division, our team of Nixon McKenzie, Zak Wahid, Ryan Dix, Michael Emerson, Aaron Roth, Nate Oriarte, and Abel Lopez-Montar also placed 5th, earning their own plaque.

Several of those listed above medaled in their races but so many others did as well that Coach Matthew Pence was unable to provide a complete list. “If you know anyone who went on the trip, tell them great job,” he said. “The coaching staff couldn’t be prouder of them for the way that they handled themselves on the trip and on the course. We are excited for what our results there mean for the rest of our season.”
