At Armijo High School the Color guard is more than just a performance group just dancing and moving around its a team built on dedication, teamwork, artistic expression, and you have to be really flexible because there are some positions you have to be flexible in. That’s what my friend Laila told me because she’s in Color Guard so she knows things about Color Guard. As an essential part of the school’s Color Guard they use flags, harp, and dance movements to bring music to life. Laila told me “Being a part of the Color Guard requires discipline and a lot of practice. We spent hours on practicing so we don’t forget it when we are performing.” I feel like Color Guard is a good sport because it seems really relaxing because they’re dancing to instruments. Laila was also telling me that “Color Guard is not just about waving flags it is a combination of art and athleticism every routine tells a story. Something really interesting about color guard is how it combines dance, drama, and athleticism all in one. I didn’t realize how much storytelling goes into a performance until I saw one up close. It seems like a really cool sport to do. It has a lot of interesting things to it.

I’m from Berkeley and the middle school that I went to was Dan O. Root. I’m in 9th grade.
I didn’t really pick this class but this class seems good for me. Honestly, I do like writing but I sometimes don’t know what to write about. Sometimes I write about how school was for me and other parts of my life.
Something about my life is that I like to skateboard, play my electric guitar, listen to music, play video games, and hang out with my friends. I have one sister that goes to Armijo but she’s a senior and I’m a freshman.
