Over the past couple of months emergency crews have rushed to Armijo dozens of times thinking that there was an emergency fire, only to find out that someone pulled the fire alarm or set it off by smoking.
This is a big problem, because of its dangerous acts, wasting government resources, disrupting kids in class and overall ruining most people’s days in school life. Student have had to leave class multiple times a day because of these false reports, disrupting the learning of fellow classmates, lets see what can we do as a school to figure this problem out, why is this happening, who is setting the alarms off, who can we blame responsible for these acts and when can the school get this fixed
Let’s see what are local principle for armijo highschool mr powell has to say about these alarms, i conducted an interview on friday the 27th at 12,50 pm, i started off the interview with a simple question, i asked on his opinions of the fire alarm issue, he stated he was not pleased with the issue and had multiple strong opinions on what he thought of the student that were caught doing these shenanigans. I moved on and asked what the punishment for setting a fire alarm off was, he stated because of the trouble of the local fire department having to come out it’s a immediate detention suspension and a official meeting with parents, depending on the student behavior during this process the punishment will be slightly less or tremendously worse than it would usually be. I ended the interview with asking mr powell how he hoped of fixing the fire alarm issue, he stated that there is not much that he can do, if he wanted to do anything major it would take ages for his higher up to approved or disapprove of his thoughts, and it’s not like he can disable the fire alarms ethier
Well with that interview done and over, I recovered some very important information, and learned that this issue is nowhere close to being sold, so how could we? As the principle stated, flexibly with this issue is very limited, but what if instead of full on disabling alarms what would change if bathroom fire alarms were disabled and replaced with strong censors , that way when there’s just kids smoking in the bathroom, class won’t be disrupted for the whole school, and incase of an actual fire the strong censor will pick it up then set off the fire alarm system across the whole school
Another solution could be that they completely take fire alarms out of bathrooms, legally , it’s a stretch, but recently in local schools in napa they have taken out multiple fire alarms and leaving only alarms in very important places like classrooms and cafeterias they have done this because they were having the exact same problem that armijo is having now,can armijo adapt to this strategy or will they continue to allow student to disrupt class with annoying ringing?.
These are just a couple of the many solutions available that the school could use if needed, but after all this is still a long term issue that we have no idea how long it will be before it is fixed what can the school do or mr powell and the higher ups can do to fix this problem, Will the problem ever be fixed, what can be changed in order to complete this goal, no matter what happens hopefully this problem can be fixed by the school coming together and stop the constant alarms and the constant disruption, what can the school do to fix the problem
