Everyone loves a freshly done, served plate. Especially if you put it all together yourself, you feel special about it. In just under an hour and fifteen minutes this baked homemade macaroni was made by me for you.
For ingredients you want to have, 2 1⁄2 elbow macaroni, 1⁄4 butter, 1⁄4 all-purpose flour, 1⁄2 teaspoon salt, 4 cups of milk, 1 pound shredded cheese, 1⁄4 melted butter, and a sleeve of buttery round crackers crushed.
Before starting anything you want to set your oven to 350 degrees. While that heats, I’ll start the preparation steps of the recipe. I start with a large pot of water, slightly salty, and set that aside to boil. You’ll pour your elbow macaroni into this boiling pot and stir a few times. After about eight minutes I drain the macaroni.
After prea[aring, grab 1⁄4 of melted butter and a pan which will be over on medium heat, a saucepan works well for this part. I stir in my flour and salt and stir constantly for about a minute or two. Next, I grab the cups of milk, pour it into the substance, and stir until it thickens, which takes around 5 minutes. Once that is finished I turn the stove temperature slightly down then pour the shredded cheese by batches into the mix until melted. With the macaroni that was drained earlier, I poured it into our sauce. For baking I moved the macaroni into a 9 by 1 inch baking pan and placed it into the oven to bake for 45 minutes and until golden brown at the top. Enjoy!
