June is here, school is over and the Summer fun arises. With enticing freetime in our hands, we tend to forget to do basic self-needs, self care to be exact. You may be wondering, why is self care so important especially in the summer? Self care is important to enhance mental, physical and emotional health. Summer break, for students, is given time away from school and its stressful workload. Students can take the opportunity to relax with themselves and dive into materials that bring them peace.
What exactly can somebody do with self care during the summer? There are many different ways somebody can successfully do that! For more physical self-care exercises, you can go on a tender walk around the neighborhood or a park, exercise, do skin-care, go shopping and many more. For mental self-care, being more positive and seeking something new, if staying in one place during the summer upsets you then going out with friends and family (or by yourself!) can be an amazing experience and mental health. Making sure you have a healthy sleep schedule, eating healthy, and doing relaxing activities (i.e reading) are a couple of mental self-care ideas.
Self care can be easily forgotten when we’re in a low state of mind, but attempting will always have a positive impact. Summer is the perfect time to practice self care!
